I change things around. A lot. As in daily. Sometimes it's little things here and there, and then sometimes it's a total overhaul. Over the past few years our master bedroom has been the room to see the most change.
Some elements stayed, like Travis' dresser and the lovely petite dresser we rescued in Gruene...
I kept the same layout of the room. We built our new headboard which you can read about
here, and added a new to us armoire. I also added blue artisimo fabric from JoAnne's and the room went to this:
|
the lamps started out as old baluster pieces... |
|
these plates are a combination of lilypad plates from Wisteria and my children's blue delft birth announcement plates... |
|
we found this huge piece at a resale shop. It had a large eagle on it, so I yanked off the bird and added a hand painted monogram... |
I am loving the addition of a bit of blue in the room as well as the subtle French Linen colour I used on the furniture. For now I am calling the room finished ;)
It's so beautiful. I love it all. Thanks for sharing. Love the pictures behind the bed.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteLove, love, love your plates! And usually, when I see these on walls, I don't! The fact that they are also birth announcements did it for me! And those lilly pad plates.......swoon!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! The birth plates are so special to me and I have always displayed them the same way. This shakes it up a bit :)
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful...I would never leave that room. And the armoire...to die for!!!!! Standing ovation!
ReplyDeleteIt's tempting with three teenagers to crawl under those covers and never come out, lol!
DeleteLove your space, Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteBeautiful ... what is hte name of the fabric in your drapes?
ReplyDeleteIt is Blue Artissimo and I found it on line at JoAnne's Fabrics. Love it!
DeleteSo beautiful! I love that slipcovered settee and your plate wall is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThe plate wall took a few tries and tweaks- but I love it :)
DeleteSuch a beautiful bedroom! I love the headboard you made. The grey glass cabinet holding linens is wonderful! I love that you painted on a monogram in place of the eagle too. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteYou should have seen the look on hubby's face when I bought it. He just kept saying, "An eagle?" over and over again...
DeleteYour bedroom is one of the most beautiful I've seen in all of blogland! I just love it!

DeleteOh my goodness Tricia, there is so much to love about this room! Your headboard and bedding, that darling slipcovered bench, the beautiful piece you keep your linen in and the plates! I live on a lake with lily pads and I want some plates like yours! I've been dreaming and pinning an idea board for my own bedroom and yours will definitely be a part of my inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Patti
The plates are from Wisteria, and the blue delft plates can be found on the blue delft website :) The bedding is a combination of discount stores, PB outlet, and Target. I like mixing it up!
DeleteOh yes, back to say I'm following you on Bloglovin'. Patti
ReplyDeleteThank you for following!!
DeleteI love so many things about your bedroom! Your unique headboard, your plate collection, the dresser you rescued, your little slipcovered settee, your earthy Christmas vignette … and your plush pillows. Yum! It’s just so comfy and warm and I can definitely see your personality shining through.
ReplyDeleteThank you- I love a room that feels like it belongs to the person living there! I tried for years to do bold prints and bright colours, but in the end this is more "me" ;)
