Best foot forward...

Travis put the finishing touches on our kitchen cabinets by putting some feet on them.   I am loving the custom farmhouse look we have going.  Today he is going to add the vintage door plates & glass knobs to the craft closet doors.  I picked them up at a shop in Houston yesterday and I can't wait to see how they look : o )

corner feet aka third position in ballet...

The cabinets are painted using Annie Sloane chalk paint in Country Grey (lower cabinets) and Old White (upper cabinets)  the large pantry is painted with Old White on the base and Country Grey on the large doors.  I wanted to break it up a bit.  The cabinet hardware was purchased here and I love the bronze finish and how solid/heavy they are.

Next up:  vintage door plates & glass knobs...

  1. So funny- your kitchen reminds me a lot of my kitchen. So of course I love your taste!

What are your thoughts on chalk paint for kitchen cabinets? did you seal them with the soft wax only or how did all that work? Would you be willing to shoot me an email with that information?

    I am so curious!

    Thanks so much!

  3. First time visitor. Love the kitchen and really love the added feet. Have you thought about painting the toe kick behind the feet a dark brown or black so that it looks more like it's freestanding furniture?

  8. I just found your blog and love your kitchen. My family is in the process of buying a house and will redo the kitchen. Wondering about Lindsey's questions above also--esp. did you seal the cabinets with something other than the soft wax and how are they holding up so far? Thanks! Laura :)

  9. Martina- Thank you so much!

Laura- I used soft wax only, but over time they harden, especially after they are buffed using a soft rag. Easy peasy!
