Top cottage projects of 2013

We had a busy year here at the cottage.   I had a to-do list a mile long, but the biggest project by far has been our on-going library build.  I wish I was here to tell you it's finished, but at this very moment Travis is elbow deep in painting that monstrosity of bookcase goodness.  This week, maybe.....honey??

Let's take a look at what we did accomplish this year.  The glass is way more than half full!

  1. By far our most popular DIY post was our Ballard Design Headboard.

    2.  Next up was our exterior shutter project.

    3.  Our cottage Christmas tour was a lot of fun...

      4.   We had beautiful new slipcovers made....

      5.  I found my most favourite vintage kitchen accessory at Roundtop....

      6.   I worked with Divine Color to review their paint...

    7.   We turned old balusters into lamps...

      8.   We built and painted a new dresser for Sara's room...here is the how to build.

     9.  We showed how you can add cottage charm to a new build...

    10.   We turned a closet into open shelving...

I like to look ahead and I am a list maker- so here are some of our projects for 2014:

  • stain or tile the back porch floor
  • rebuild the sink/vanity area in our master bathroom
  • add a farmhouse sink and new countertops and butcher block in the kitchen
  • install some downlighting in the exterior front of the house
  • design and build our own Mora clock

Here's wishing all of you a very safe & very happy new year!
