So I've been sweating away in my garage working on this piece for a baby's nursery...
The base of the piece is painted using Martha Stewart Ironstone White that I made into chalk paint using this amazing additive: Websters Chalk Paint Powder You can buy some from my sweet cousin, Carolyn over at Sweet Tea & Linen You simply add a few tablespoons into your latex paint, and VIOLA! Chalk Paint. I'm smitten with it!
The top is stripped, sanded and stained using Old Grey. I then gave it a coat of clear wax and buffed it out to a soft shine.
Lots of pieces to complete this weekend for I Spy....The Perfect Piece. Then some homeschooling time & the library ceiling starts SATURDAY. See? All caps, so it's a commitment ;)

How is assistant Sara working out? Haven't heard much about what she is doing to help.
ReplyDeleteGreat piece! I wish I had used a nice dresser for my girls nurseries. My mother in law bought a rather tacky nursery set which 9 years later, I'm using for my third baby. I do keep the dresser in the closet though :)
ReplyDeletethis turned out beautifully, and could easily be used in any room of the house!
