New living room cabinet....


We replaced our old display/china cabinet for a cabinet with a bit more room and more our style.
This is the old cabinet:

It had me at the hardware...
I found this piece at ABC Home in New York.  The delivery drivers were very nice and super careful handling the piece and not scratching my wood floors.

The main challenge with this piece has been styling it.  Because of its size I cannot use anything small- the things in this cabinet have to be a bit larger to be seen.  My dad has tons of old books and I am thinking about asking him if I could "borrow" some just to see how they would look in this cabinet.

      Thank you, Denise! Not easy to style....little things get lost in it, so I had to pull larger pieces from around the house!

    I love the piece you bought at the ABC Store. I only visited the store once and could have done a lot of damage if I had room in my luggage. On my other visites to NYC, my husband was with me so I didn't get to visit.

    I love the part in your title - living big in a small house. We live in a little cottage by the sea and we LIVE so well within our little space.

    I will be back to visit more.

      I adore little spaces....planning on downsizing after retirement. Less than 2,000 will become less than 1,000 then! I have to visit your cottage now :)

    Oh my goodness!! I'm looking for something exactly like this cabinet!! I don't see it on the ABC Store website. What are the dimensions?

      Jill- It is BIG! 94" tall and 75" wide. I don't think it is on the site anymore....I'm thinking since it was a sale item it may have been the last. There was a wrought iron bed I was eyeing, but then gone after a few days :(
