I am a Jersey girl at heart. My mom is from New Jersey and my dad is from New York. However, I was born in Puerto Rico, moved to the Florida Keys, and now I live on the Texas coast.
Yes, I am very pale- and my parents are not Puerto Rican. When people look surprised by my birthplace I tell them that I am from "the Northern end of the island". The confused look that follows is priceless ;)
This is my hometown:
Old San Juan:
Up until a few years ago my parents still owned property close to El Yunque:
I see my stats daily and I am just so curious to know where y'all are from. Please leave me a comment and tell me where your hometown is!

ReplyDeleteWell, now that you mention it, I do see the Puerto Rican in you ;) I was born in Nicaragua, but was raised in Miami, and now live in Dallas, TX...but in my heart, I'm 100% Floridian.

Too funny!!
DeleteI still live in my hometown and have been here my entire life with the exception of a 5 year stint in the US Navy. Even went to school here in Rochester, NY. However, I did get a chance to visit San Juan back in my Navy days. Had a lot of fun there although I mostly saw the insides of bars! I've also lived in Washington, DC, Orlando, FL, Saratoga Springs, NY, Newport, RI, and Virginia Beach, VA. My wife and I travelled a lot as I went from school to school my first couple of years! Talk about adventure for a pair of newlyweds!
ReplyDeleteCool story, and I just saw your beautiful Sara. My daughter who has DS, just likes doing her own thing all day. She loves to ride her electric four wheeler by herself. We are not allowed to follow, and she gets mad when our collie keeps tabs on her, hee, hee. Sweet girls!
ReplyDeleteIndependent- I love it! We really need to get our girls together :)

ReplyDeleteMy uncle had DS - I love my mom's stories about how protective she and her 10 brothers and sisters were of David.
Your furniture is beautiful ...my family and I live in central Wisconsin!
Angie- Yes! I wrote to Kelle shortly after Nella was born. She is such a lovely person and an amazing writer. I have read her book Bloom twice :) Central Wisconsin must be cold this time of year. Texas is already moving into spring. Green everywhere! David is our son's name- love it! Thank you so much for stopping by!
DeleteI loved Puerto Rico when I visited. We stayed in a resort on the coast, not far from the rain forest.
ReplyDeleteJust came across your blog, and I can't stop reading it!! I am super enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteSo since you asked ;), I am 100% Costa Rican by birth and blood, but now 100% Texan by heart. We live in The Woodlands, Texas. Hubby is a Texan and I loooove Texas! What can say!
