Our Master Bedroom...

Up until a few weeks ago our bedroom was all neutral just like the living room and kitchen.  Then I started to add some subtle bits of French blue...

We have gone headboard-less for a while now.  Thinking of using an old painted five panel door.

I love monograms and put them everywhere!

I have ordered material from Joannes fabric to make curtain panels.  It's the same material Miss.Mustard Seed is using in her bedroom.  Imitation is the best form of flattery- and I am smitten with this design!

The dictionary was given to me by my dad.  We both share a love of old books- especially dictionaries!

I will be sure to update our room after I get the material sewn and up.  I am also having some new shams made for the bed and possibly a bedskirt using my favourite painter's drop cloth material.   I'm even thinking about switching out the lamps for hanging chandy's over the night-stands/dressers.

I'll keep you posted as this room evolves!

  4. Blue has never been my favorite color - or at least I didn't think so! But that fabric like MMS is really getting to me! I love it and I think it's going to look great in your room. Do you buy drop cloths from a certain home improvement center? My favs are from Lowes.

    1. I love the Lowes drop cloths! They laugh at how many I buy at a time. They know I am a painter, but the drop cloths are for decorating :)

  5. Hi Tricia! I'm stopping in from Brenda's where you are featured today. I am swooning over your bedroom, such soft pretty colors! I can't wait to see what you use for a headboard and how the curtains turn out. Everything is so pretty already! Now, I'm going to peek around your blog a bit more!

    1. Jane- Welcome! I've been to your blog- just lovely! Not sure what to do on the headboard. I thought maybe an old door, but with the old window and screen I'm afraid it's going to look like I raided the salvage yard. I'm thinking I may go with a fabric covered headboard instead. Simple & soft!
