If you are anything like me cooking tends to be a mad dash about the kitchen searching out tools, ingredients, spices, spoons & such. A few weeks ago I decided to pull my most used supplies together into one convenient location.
Spoons (both stainless and wooden) Spatulas/spoonulas, Salt & Pepper, Sea salt, Sugar, Olive Oil, Garlic & wine corks. Because everyone knows that cooking is no fun without a glass of wine! |
I love a variety of containers and have plucked some from about the cottage. My sugar is kept in the small Army issued sugar pot, the Wine stoppers are in an old trophy cup, the silver pot holding my spoons is actually a flower vase- I just liked the way it picked up the shiny finish to our cabinet pulls. My favourite piece is the Dundee jam pot that I keep my spatulas/spoonulas in. According to my mom she threw away DOZENS of these when cleaning out my grandmothers apartment. Makes me ill every time she shares the story! The salt & pepper shakers were a find at PB outlet, and the beautiful etched glass vase was a gift from my talented cousin, Carolyn.
How do you keep your supplies organized? I'd love to hear some ideas on this!
mmm so pretty! I love when the stuff is accessible like you've got here but also displayed and enjoyed. Having all the little bits contained in a tray is the BEST thing ever...I do it all over the house and it gives order to the chaos of real life, right? happy day to you!

Yes! It totally reigns in the chaos :)
DeleteSuch a pretty and useful vignette! I love the Dundee jar and the small crock with the rooster on it!
ReplyDeleteLisa- I love those jars, just makes me sick to think someone threw a bunch in the trash! I marvel at how jams and other goods came in packages that were so nice. Nowadays it is all throw away stuff.
DeleteCollected over time...re-purposed vessels each with a story of their own... love how you "dot your 'eyes' and cross your T's": necessiTy, simpliciTy, utiliTy, beauTy!
ReplyDeleteI have color-coded my kitchen tool drawers - one for the black spoons and spatulas, one for the other stainless or random stuff. (Having a houseful of men who help with kitchen duties required developing a logical readily discernible system.)
For the stuff that won't fit into drawers well like whisks and ladles, I enjoy my counter-top pottery container with a "Chef Bear" motif. His caption likely reads "Bear Necessities" or "Bear Essentials".
Beautifully written comment :) I love your system for keeping the boys in check!
DeleteBeautiful & perfectly organized...want to come spend a few weeks at my house?? lol
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a chance to tell you how much I ADORE the new blog design & the pics by the lovely Miss B are breathtaking!! We need to get together soon! Hope your hand is back to 100%. Have a magnificent weekend!!
I'd love to! And let's hit up some fleas while we are at it :) My hand is doing very well- just a bit sore and bruised. Working a bit more each day to build up some strength!
DeleteOh how I wish I could be so organized! Looks so cozy.
ReplyDeleteYou are! I read your blog :) Organized and super creative you are! (Channeling Yoda on that sentence ;)
DeleteIt fits your kitchen! We went shiny and modern in our new space, with lots of drawers, so I just have two drawers full of things right next to the stove, easy to pull out and grab. Uncluttered countertops for me, so I maximize the working area.
ReplyDeleteTotally suits your new kitchen! I love the modern sleekness of it :)
DeleteI'm loving all the silver :) Found you via Hometalk, nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! Nice to meet you too :) Thanks for popping over!
