We need to talk...

Let me first say, I love the house we bought. That being said, let me also say- I was attempting humor on my last post.

The day we went out to look at the pond house I had already put in full day at school. I was tired and my throat had been hurting all day. Not to mention the bat issues we had been dealing with at school all week. I was tired folks. And there were mosquitos.

Yesterday we went back out to the homesite. With bellies full of do-nuts, kolaches & coffee, on top of a good night's sleep, the house looked beautiful. The sun was coming up across the pond and we stood in our soon to be bedroom looking out the frames where the windows will eventually go and thought, "Oh hell yes." The house is small. 2,000 square feet in all, but y'all know how we/I feel about big houses. Not so much so, for us. We like being close, one family room, Friday night movie nights, one dining area to eat together. Small house = Close family.

Travis asked me to sit down and talk to him this morning. He said he read my post and was worried that I didn't really love the house. I do! I was just tired and we had just lost our offer on the other house- it was just an attempt to be funny. (so abandoning future attempts at humor!)

We are fine. The new house is great. Surviving living with my parents for eight weeks will be the really entertaining part.

Stay tuned...

  1. Good! We feel much better now. John & I were both very worried because you just didn't sound happy about it in your last post. I am soooo glad you love the new house and I simply cannot wait to see what amazing things you will do with it. Honestly, you could make a cardboard box look fabulous! Congratulations!!

  4. That is wonderful news, I'm sorry for the outburst. . it was rude, I should have known humor when I saw it. I just know you are not a "settler" and I didn't want you to settle for something that in six months was going to seem like prison. But honestly you could take a shotgun shack and turn it into a better homes feature piece in no time. Good luck with the parents, please let us know if we can help with anything at all.

  5. Glad you like your new place! My home is a hair under 2000 sq ft and it's plenty big! I'm sure you'll love it once it's up.

  6. DJ- No apology needed : ) It's the living with the parents part that is going to be a challenge. Don't be surprised if you find me in your garage with my mouth under the tap : )
