Parrot Uncle Lighting...

A while back I was contacted by a lighting company, Parrot Uncle, to try out one of their lights.  I visited their website and found a wall light that I loved the look of.  A bit retro- and kind of Steampunk-ish...

Our little atrium area had a wall light since it was outside what was originally the back door of the townhouse.  I had put a light up just as a "placeholder" of sorts until I found one I really liked.   We bought an Edison bulb to use in it and I love the soft glow it puts off in the room...

Parrot Uncle also carries lovely awesome wooden pendants as well as Parrot Uncle modern floor lamps.  I love the wood pendant lights and if I'd had a need for one I would have chosen this....

Travis was great about putting our new light up and we love how it looks in our little atrium area...

If you are looking for affordable decorative lighting, Parrot Uncle has so many beautiful lights to chose from.

*this post was sponsored and I received the light as reimbursement for my time, however- all opinions of the product are my own.

  • putty/sand weird opening to vanity area
  • have electrician out to check kitchen wires and rewire the breaker box

  • fix drywall patches in bedrooms and living room

In other news, the cabinets for the kitchen will be ordered today.  It was a bit of a nightmare to find a reliable contractor with a good reputation.  The cabinets are 38 days out, and that combined with flooring being 30 days out will give us a projected move in date of August 1st.   A month later than planned, but that is how these things go.  Glitches and hiccups are the norm.

We did get our PB entry light installed last night.  I love the look, but am a bit disappointed in the "solidness" of the piece.  It's a bit flimsy and the mounting is questionable.

Travis is installing drywall in the bathrooms today and the tiling will begin after next week.  Once they are put back together we can focus on building out the desk and shelves downstairs.  We can begin some of the laundry room build, but most of that will have to wait until we have the washer and dryer in place.  Travis will be working on exterior shutters and corbels for the front, along with the open shelving and corbels for the kitchen.  I am super excited to share our range hood plans- and I have a fellow fav blogger to thank for that.

We also opted to change out all of the front windows with Pella crank windows.  They are high efficiency, but will still have the charm of the original windows.  They should be in by the end of the month.

Travis goes back to work tomorrow night so I am taking next week to focus on some summer fun with the kids, lots of pool time, movies and reading.  Hunter is still working on math and we have added in a lot of history for the summer.  I love the flexibility homeschooling has given us!

I'm off to meet up with the president of the garden club this morning.  She has a plant for us and I wanted her to meet Sara since we will both be attending meetings/outings.

Be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up with all that we are doing :)
Happy Thursday y'all!
