Violet...

This weekend we introduced a new member to our family....

Meet Violet:

She is a rescue from the  Dachshund Rescue of Houston- not a full blooded weenie, more of a cross breed.

Doxie + Pomeranian =  Domeranian or Poxie

Doxie + Chihuahua = Chiweenie

Not really sure what breed she is, but we do know how adorable and loving she is!  This is one lucky little girl who is about to be spoiled beyond her dreams :)

Yesterday I got to spend the day with my neighbors new puppy.  She is a beagle pup.  My grandparents had two beagles, Snuffy and Missy.  They were such sweet dogs.   My grandmother thought they hung the moon!  I remember how they would howl at us and the snoring they did while they slept.

Meet Daisy:

Almost made me want another doxie pup!  I say almost, because puppies, like babies are a LOT of work.  It was fun to play and spoil her and then send her home ; o )

Marley & us...

My parents are leaving tomorrow morning for South Carolina to visit Dr.Sister. Since I got them into this dog ownership thing, and since I am not going on the trip after-all, it is only natural that I take the dog for the week.

A puppy. For a whole week. I explained to my children that this next week will be their time to shine. To step up to the plate. Show me what they're made of.

In other words, keep the dog from eating the new house.
