I had some fun yesterday playing around with making my own chalk paint (something I've wanted to do for ages!). Huge thank you to my cousin Carolyn for the info on how to...
I mixed up a batch of old white and got to work...
Then I added in some stencils...
This is the matching piece:
Now all that is left is for me to paint the mirror and this set is complete : o )

WOW - just gorgeous! Sometimes stencilling is just meant to be on something and you knocked this right out of the park - beautiful job!

Suzan- Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteYou never cease to amaze me. Some people know how to paint but you have "the eye", that undefinable quality that turns the simple act of painting into art. Very nice work.
ReplyDeleteOh Vince, thank you! What a beautiful compliment : o )
ReplyDeleteLove the stencils on the dresser! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteDirections on how to make the chalk paint???? Please!!
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful, the stencil adds such character. Thank you for linking up at Doodles & Stitches :)
ReplyDeleteAnon- There are two ways to mix it up: You can use two parts latex paint to one part plaster of paris, or one cup latex paint with three tablespoons of calcium carbonate. If you use the plaster of paris it works better if you mix that with water first to get rid of clumps. It all keeps well if put in the fridge.
