I am a spur of the moment house fluffer. Travis calls me Bunny....not for the reasons you'd think, but because I never stop moving things around in the house. He says every day is like Easter....you never know what you will find.
So this morning I decided on a whim to paint our old watchmaker's cabinet. I knew I wanted to leave the top dark.
I started out with some milk paint in the colour "slate" and gave it two coats. It was BLUE y'all....really blue, not so much like a slate blue, but a sky blue. Not a fan. So I went over it with one coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in the colour Coco.
That is what I call a happy accident in painting : o )

As I was working on the piece I began to notice that the paint was still reacting like milk paint. Some spots darker/lighter than others, mottled looking even....I loved it!
I finished it up with a coat of clear wax.
