July project wrap-up....

So here is what we accomplished here at the cottage this past month...

Rebuild of the kitchen island & kitchen chalk painted cabinets...






Chalk painted interior doors for kitchen & vintage glass knob hardware...











Mini-spruce up of the Bear's bed...


A few old but new chalk painted pieces...



A couple of new pillows from Tuesday Morning for the living room...


and that about wraps up July! Still hoping to squeeze in a few more projects before school starts back...

  3. I have a chalk paint question and since I see you've done several pieces now, you're the one to ask! First, I've heard that the first coat goes on nicely but the second coat is a fight. Did you find that to be true? I notice your cabinets are not distressed, so did you do two coats? What did you seal with? Any problems so far?

  4. Beth- Yes, two coats and not distressed on the kitchen cabinets. I did not find the second coat to be difficult, not sure why someone would have that problem. Maybe the brush used or the brush was overloaded with paint? I am LOVING my cabinets and have had zero problems or issues with them. The look fits our house to a "T" ; o ) Good luck with your project and let me know how it turns out!
