We took the kids over to the new house site. Travis and I have an appointment on Friday to pick out all of the countertops, flooring, finishes and such. When we were discussing the bathroom cabinets the perky new home sales lady wanted to know if we wanted to pay $600 to upgrade the cabinets from "plain white". I said no, that if I really didn't like them I would paint them. She replied back with, "But it's only $600."
"Yeah, but my painting skills are FREE."
Boo-yah.
I will pray for good weather so your house will be finished ahead of schedule!
ReplyDeletelooks great!
ReplyDeleteCool! A see-through house! (My attempt at humor...)
ReplyDeleteYay!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for you!!!! :)
Why does Anne look so miserable in that picture?
Uhm.. you need some walls. ;)
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, you ARE having it wired for CAT-5 (internet) in each room, right?
(Yes, I know I'm a geek!)
Mazel Tov, hun!

Brittany- That is Anne's new "teenager scowl". She wears it everywhere these days!
ReplyDeleteAdam- I'm allergic to cats : ) Actually we are wired for internet and cable in each room.
ReplyDeleteOoh..It's SO pretty! I love the dormer over the garage! Oh yeah..I remember the teenage scowl years. Tell her she's too pretty to scowl :)
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if people from other parts of the country are laughing at us folks down here who consider a 2,000 sq foot home to be a little on the "small" side. Crazy, big haired, pick-up truck driving Texans. :)
ReplyDeleteCable and internet in all rooms? Ears prick up... can I come and live in the garage? Will that have internet and cable too??? Grins...
ReplyDeleteBe sure to go stand guard when they put in the dividing walls, for there is when you can make your family room a tad bigger, and not have wasted space in places like hallways etc....
I am looking forward to seeing what you do with a blank canvas...
Time to pair up some kids and free up the dining room. Hope you survive for eight weeks. But look, a whole new place to decorate!
ReplyDeleteMy money is on them getting painted at some point.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I'm so happy to hear you say that you like smaller houses. The one we bought is just about the same size as the one you're building and I love it. I'm a wreck, so I always think I need a bigger house, but I think it would separate us too much.
ReplyDeleteAnd your kids! I can't believe how big they are!
Knowing your painting skilz, I think you made the right call.
ReplyDeleteZelda- So good to hear from you!! We are both "big" into little houses : ) Yes, kids are HUGE now!
ReplyDeleteAre you over there hanging sheetrock or what? Where've you been this week?
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! :)
MC- Busy, busy : ) School! I think I may move a cot into my classroom!
