Fall...

It's rainy today here in Texas.  We are supposed to be getting a front in....which in Texas weather speak means 92 degrees in September instead of 98.  Kind of hard to get into the fall decorating spirit when the only thing falling is your hair after walking outside into 100% humidity...

I'm not big into over the top fall/Halloween decorating, so this is my attempt at a fall mantel.  Some velvet pumpkins and my dad's old books- presto! Fall.

Someone please tell me about the glorious sweater weather you are having in your neck of the woods!

Fall mantel...

I have a confession to make.

Despite having this upgraded fireplace mantel of ours, I don't decorate it.

Ever.

Really.

I know.

Today I got a bee in my bonnet and decided to hit a few stores with my mom....

Have I mentioned how creative she is?

Well, she is.

This is what we came up with:

Glitter garland & white pumpkins from Target
Apples from Homegoods
Hydrangeas from Michaels
Burlap & ribbon form my craft closet
