Fall...

It's rainy today here in Texas.  We are supposed to be getting a front in....which in Texas weather speak means 92 degrees in September instead of 98.  Kind of hard to get into the fall decorating spirit when the only thing falling is your hair after walking outside into 100% humidity...

I'm not big into over the top fall/Halloween decorating, so this is my attempt at a fall mantel.  Some velvet pumpkins and my dad's old books- presto! Fall.

Someone please tell me about the glorious sweater weather you are having in your neck of the woods!

  1. Pretty! Did you make your pumpkins and acorns? Love them!! I'm in your boat -Texas humid and warm. Loving the rain though and hoping for weather in the 80's!

  4. I love your mantle with the pumpkins and acorns. It's 'just right'. Now that my kids are gone, I'm more into just Fall decorating versus the Halloween stuff. Today the temperature is falling from 95 to 82. Wow, positively chilly!

  5. 99 today here. No sweaters, sorry (but 6% humidity). I too got some pumpkins, but real orange ones for the dining room table (our mantle is too skinny)

  7. Oh I love those old books and the little acorns are adorable. I don't decorate much for fall but I do love those velvet pumpkins. The white ones are my favorite.

I think we are starting to see fall here in PA. My mom and I went to Ohio for the Country Living Fair last week and we had to wear coats because it was only in the upper 50's on Friday. I love when the weather starts to turn but I dislike winter. Soon I'll be wishing I lived in Texas. I really hate the cold.
