Today I am featuring a lovely gal with a wicked sense of sewing smarts. (say that fast three times!)
Meet Jill of Sew a Fine Seam...
She identifies herself as "one who sews". That is like saying Rumplestiltskin merely knitted. "One who has seriously mad sewing skills" better describes this gal!
A while back I asked Jill if she would design some Euro shams for my bedroom to coordinate with my lovely new totally copied from Miss Mustard Seed drapes. I told her to use some drop cloth material, my fav and stands up to anything- and then use a bit of my expensive-ish blue material to do a bit of piping along the edges. Oh, and ruffles, I really wanted to see some ruffles.
That's it- not more in the direction arena from me.
I think she may have a crystal ball next to her sewing machine. And pixie dust. Because look...
I mean, look!
Genius. Shear genius. (see what I did there? ;)

Jill was even sweet enough to sew up a little something to pass on to my readers as a giveaway!
I wish I had sewing skills - any sewing skills, but I don't, except for the occasional button needing reattached. The bedding is absolutely beautiful and so is the bag. Hmm... what would I use the bag for.... I think I would use it to go out to the pool, or to my trip to San Antonio in a couple of weeks. The bag is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Patty
I love San Antonio! Graduated from St.Mary's U ;) The bag also has pockets inside of it- perfect for a tube of sunscreen!
DeleteLove love love! :) I would most assuredly use it for everything but looks like a perfect Hadibug tote for summer outings to the ballpark with snacks and toys... Love you T <3
ReplyDeleteSo cute! All my trashy thrift shop treasures would be oh so classy in that bag!!!
ReplyDeleteCute!! I'd use it for craft or dance stuff!! Love her work
ReplyDeleteCute!! I'd use it for craft or dance stuff!! Love her work
ReplyDeleteSo adorable and I love the blue and white pattern going on! I would be afraid of ruining it so I would probably hang/display it in my "cottage" guest bedroom I am slowly working on (maybe gorgeous artifical blooms popping out from it?) and then sneak it out for special weekend getaways or for little treasures when junkin the hill country!
ReplyDeleteTricia, you are just the best! Obviously don't enter me in the giveaway but I had to say thanks so much for the great words of praise! And to tell you that the pillows look amazing in your room! I'm in love with that blue and white fabric! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI'd use it as a throw everything in and run out the door type of bag! :))
ReplyDeleteEverything running loose in my front seat! :D
ReplyDeleteMorgan Ingram
I'd use it for library books or a diaper bag. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI ordered those same shams after seeing them on Melaine's blog.....they are gorgeous and I can't wait! That tote would be perfect for those diapers and sippy cups for my baby :)
ReplyDeleteYOU WON!! I told Travis to pick a number 1-40 and he picked 9- you are it ;) Just email me your address and I will mail off your cute bag on Monday :)
DeleteYour pillows are beautiful! I might be a teeny-tiny-smidgeon prejudiced since my sister made them. Love her talent!
ReplyDeleteI love bags! I would add this bag to my stash and pull it out whenever I needed a bag just that size to dash out the door with me.
*Shear genius.*~love the usage!!!! :)

ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I could sew. Your bedding is absolutely beautiful. I love drop cloth material. We recently made over our youngest sons room and I actually made curtains using drop cloths and I even sewed the rod pocket. They are perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love totes and I love the tote Jill made. If I were to win the tote, I think I would use it as my everyday bag.
Wowser that's beautiful! I just really envy people with that skill. I am not "one who sews". :)
ReplyDeleteWhat would I use the tote for? Well when we do road trips I like to take a magazine, a water bottle, and a snack. This gorgeous tote would be perfect.

OMGoodness, yes ... I do have a use for this. Going to the scrapbook convention here in Arlington, Texas, on June 6 and it would be perfect to tote around all my new-found purchases and treasures. I'd be able to show it off and tell everybody that ooh'd and aah'd over it just exactly where they can get one, too. After convention, I'd use it every time I needed to cart things around. Thanks so much for this chance. It's a.dor.able!

ReplyDeleteLOL! Aimee- you crack me up!
DeleteI just love sewing and doing embroidering on my moms Platinum950e. Lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteMY COLORS! Love this tote. I would use this tote for a lot of things including carrying my magazines to read when I am in a doctor's office waiting my turn. Great giveaway. Thank you. nancythedove@aol.com
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the colors! As a retired teacher(after 40 years), I still substitute. Would love to use this as my school bag for my lunch, book, and other goodies for the day. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh, the material is perfect -- exactly the pattern I would choose for a project! I would use the bag for my teacher stuff that I carry home every day from school. Or...for shopping at my favorite places. Or...for the many craft and sewing projects I carry around to finish in spare moments. Or...you get the idea!
ReplyDeleteThe pillows are gorgeous; I wouldn't want to get off the bed with such luxurious softness calling my name!

I love Jill! I would be honored to win this beautiful bag. I would use it to hold my current craft project!
