The Winner of the Shabby Apple give away is Blondie at Blondie's Journal! Sara took a while to pick because she wanted to see all the blogs of people who entered. That and she kept asking me what your dog's names are....love that girl ;)
Today is Mother's Day...flashback photo to 1968 in Puerto Rico:
My mom is the picture of tenacity. Seriously, I was a challenging baby, an over curious toddler, an active kid, and a doozie of a teenager. Through it all my mom stuck by me. I'm sure I caused most of her grey hairs, but I'd like to think I am the cause of some of her laugh lines too. After coming through the "other side" of the teen/young adult years we have become the best of friends. I call my mom first thing in the morning and it is not uncommon for us to talk several times a day. She is my person to call when something happens- good or bad. She laughs with me, cries with me and shares everything with me. My mom is generous with her time and her talents. She is the reason we always have delicious baked goods in our kitchen ;) Not only did my mom manage to do motherhood with style, but she jumped into the role of Nana without missing a beat. My kids are so lucky to have her in their lives.
Happy Mother's Day to my lovely mom and all moms everywhere!

First of all, thank you for having such a great giveaway, and thank you, Sara, for choosing me as the winner! You are both very special ladies!
ReplyDeleteTricia, I am loving this post. I think you just described me and my mother! And, I, too, hope that I'm the one that gave her the laugh lines. She has been gone 12 years now, I hope she is up in heaven smiling as I go through the trials and tribulations of being a mother!
XO,
Jane
I am so happy you won! Enjoy :) I cannot imagine life without my mom. I have a close friend who lost her mother and she still finds herself picking up the phone to call her...
DeleteHappy Mother's Day to you too. Congrats to Jane on winning. She is the sweetest and I am so happy she won.
ReplyDeleteKris

Thank you!!
DeleteThank you Tricia's mom for doing such a good job (finally)
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? Great masterpieces take time ;)
DeleteSuch a sweet tribute to your mom! Mine has been gone for 11 years and I miss her all the time. She, like your mom, was my go to person when all things happened, my friend, and a wonderful grandmother. I know she is smiling down at me and I look forward to seeing her again someday! Thank you for this post. It has brought tears of joy. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful to have the relationship with my mother that I do. It was not always that way and I am grateful for the time we spend together!
