I love the look of custom glass windows. My parents have a beautiful leaded glass door and transom windows, but that is way out of my decorating budget! So to give myself a bit of the look I found a long narrow leaded glass piece to put in my transom window. I really love using old windows to decorate and find myself wondering about the people who looked through those windows, what they did for a living, who they loved......just the history behind them.
I took these pictures early in the morning, so forgive the winter darkness! I will post a picture with light behind the window later today. *New pics added!
I love the chippy paint on this piece. I didn't touch it up at all, just cleaned it and left it as it is. |
I'm glad to see these pictures. They are really pretty and give me good ideas. I have an old window that has very chippy green paint on the frame. I'm going to take it out of the closet. :)
ReplyDeleteYes do! They add sparkle and interest to an otherwise boring builder grade window :)

ReplyDeleteGorgeous bed and love the chippy window. Sorry I missed this earlier.
ReplyDeleteA window over a window? I never thought such combination would be a cool addition! In a way, the old window serves a heavier purpose than rails. It's also very wise to put it inside. Vintage-y items easily catch attention. And not to offend your neighbors, but you wouldn't know if someone might take interest of it! XD
