Union Jack Dresser....

I've wanted to paint one of these since seeing Miss.Mustard Seed's version of the Union Jack dresser....so today I gave it a go!

This was after all the taping and painting....thank goodness I have a mathy husband!

And after antiquing wax and some distressing....

I kept the original hardware since it had a kinda cool patina.

I sanded down the top of this piece (maple) and then applied a Walnut stain and poly coat.

So there you have it- my version of the Union Jack Dresser.  I'm not sure I would tackle this design again.  The flag is a bit complicated to tape out, and after a brief Internet search and some reading I discovered that it was not symmetrical like I first thought.  I am so thankful to have a mathy/handy husband who was willing to do the measuring and taping for me : o )
