Tuesday and Wednesday of this week found me administering our state assessments at school. Math, and then my area: Reading. The test instructions are scripted, and if a child asks us a question during the test we have three scripted responses that we can answer with. After going through the instructions for math and how to bubble in answers on a grid, the last line I had to say was, "Are there any questions?"
I looked around the room and only one hand was up. I braced myself for what I was sure was going to be some math related question that I would not be able to answer, instead only give my "I'm sorry I cannot help you with that answer, just do the best you can" line.
I was wrong.
The student looked at me and asked, "Can we eat our lollipops now?"
With that being the only pressing question in the room, I just hope they all passed.
Isn't it stressful? Our tests are the week of the 19th.
ReplyDeleteWell, did you let her eat her lollipop?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you're glad this week's over. Only two more months til' summer!
Speaking of, have you broken the news to your mom that you're gonna be lounging by her pool til school starts?
Now there's a child with their priorities straight.
ReplyDeleteMy kind of kid!!
ReplyDeleteYes, did you let them eat during the test, or lick after? (important questions)
