How I spend my days...

I do take breaks. Most people who know me would say otherwise, but even I have to stop working, decorating and cleaning for just a bit each summer. My parents live on the water and have a beautiful pool that we use as soon as it gets warm enough to swim, which around these parts starts in April. Mom even makes lunch by the pool which always involves a type of summer dessert. My Mom-who-makes-Martha-look-lazy is a bit fanatical when it comes to our pool days. New swimsuits, towels, goggles, and even a volleyball net. It's always fun at Nana's house. Yesterday she had us laughing when she decided that s'mores would be a great after lunch treat. It's hot here in Texas folks, Satan's crotch hot, so the little Benson burner thingy didn't melt those marshmallows nearly as well as just standing and holding them in the sun. We had chocolate everywhere...but we had fun too.

I also tend to have extra children in the summer. It's nothing for me to have my four and at least three or four other kids on any given summer day. I like it that way, at least that way I know where my kids are and what they are up to.

Plus it gives me an excuse to photograph my pedicures.

  1. Sounds like so much fun! Nana's pool is AWESOME. But I do have one question...cleaning? What is cleaning? I've never heard of that activity. Is it something I should be doing?

  2. Lynn- LOL! Cleaning is my passion. Seriously- I love to clean. I woke up at 3 this morning and just could not sleep, so I broke open some of my new cleaning supplies. I am going to post about what I use soon : )

  4. Lindy- Me too, all we have is a courtyard. I keep trying to talk Travis into a courtyard pool. No luck yet...
