Utility Room finished...

Finally... a functional utility room!

Shelves & beadboard

Jack's stash...

Starfish lamp from Homegoods

Vintage gym locker

Jack's bowls & toys

My maiden name ; o )

My Grandmother's iron

School house pendant and antique hangers

Pottery Barn inspired locker cabinet

Galvenized hinges

Locker cabinet houses brooms & vaccum

Decisions, decisions...

Perfect!
The utility room is 95% complete...  I just ordered a small sisal/jute rug for the floor from PB, and the left side wall has our water flex pipe system access panel on it, so we want to cover that with a chalkboard on hinges to hide the system.  I also shot an e-mail over to My Sweet Savannah to ask about a long narrow sign to prop along the back of the folding table.
Jack is most pleased to have all of his important worldly possessions housed in one area.  Food, bowls, toys and bathing supplies fit nicely into his "nook" of the room.
The cabinet is PB inspired from one of their overpriced catalog versions.  Theirs has numbers painted on it...we'll see if I follow their lead on that one.  The giant pins are from Ballard Designs.
Once I finish all of the little odds & ends I will post a few more pictures.  Travis did a wonderful job of building it just the way I pictured it in my mind.  Love that man- and I'm pretty sure Jack does too!

  1. Just beautiful! Wish work got done that quickly at my house. How's the weather in your part of TX? My brother is in Huntsville and my niece is a teacher in Houston. She posted a picture on FB of the ice that collected on the front of her car while driving.

  2. We have ice here. School was cancelled for today- good thing too since they are reporting accidents left and right. Watching my husband try to scrape the ice off of his jeep so that he can go to the gym- too funny!

  5. Must say I have laundry room envy. You did a fantastic job. Love everything, especially the little tags you made. It looks like upholstery strapping ... am I right? Brilliant and so cute! I'm visiting from Be Different ... Act Normal. Hope you'll visit back. Love what you've done!

  10. Your laundry room turned out so nice! I love the broom closet and the shelving. I need to find my grandmother's iron and put in my main level laundry room. Not sure why I hadn't thought of that!
